139 | Iboga Integration Struggles and How I'm Getting Through It

“Iboga can reveal these conditions that we place upon self-love and the conditions that we place around self-acceptance and self-worth. And sometimes it can do that in a really disturbing and agonizing way.”

What happens when a psychedelic experience makes life more confusing instead of more clear?

In this unguarded solo episode, Lana shares an honest update 16 months after her second Iboga experience, and reflects on how much her understanding of Iboga, "truth", and integration has changed along the way.

Rather than looking back from the other side with a neat story about what it all meant, Lana speaks from within an integration that is still unfolding. After a challenging year of uncertainty, mental spirals, shifting identity, questions about love and relationships, and even moments of resentment toward the medicine, she explores what it means to keep integrating when there are no easy answers.

At the center of the episode is a Bwiti teaching that has become an anchor throughout this process: the mind is not a sense. Lana explores what it has meant to return to the present moment, confirm truth through the senses, and learn to trust her direct lived experience over the stories, fears, and projections of the mind—even when those stories began with something experienced during an Iboga ceremony.

This episode is about the messier side of psychedelic healing: when medicine makes things harder before they get better, when integration stretches far beyond the retreat, and when the work becomes less about finding answers and more about learning how to live with the questions.
